I picked out this particular opal because although somewhat muted/cloudy, it has a neat pinfire pattern that I don't see a lot of. I had the opal bezel-set in a custom 14k yellow gold setting. Opal measures 15mm x 11mm, weight of 6.3 carats. Ring size 5.5. Side note: Welo opals are hydrophane opals, while much hardier than Australian opals, you must keep them dry because they will absorb any liquid including water and it will cloud them, sometimes permanently.
